Notification
EU Notification Directive 98/34/EK stipulates a notification and harmonization procedure relating to territories which are not harmonized by the Community law. Through this procedure the eventual new barriers to the producing and trading of goods caused by the divergent national regulations of the Member states can be filtered out. The notification procedure also supplements the Treaty of the EEC as regards its banning measures relating to such national-level regulations that would have the same impact on the trade as trade restrictions by quotas have, and at the same time supports the harmonization of the national regulations intending to achieve the freedom of the EU internal market. The procedure aims at filtering out – already in their draft measure ‘state’ – those national regulations of the Member states which may be considered to be eventual ‘technical barriers’ to trade.
The Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry deems it important that the Hungarian entrepreneurs can also take advantage of the above possibility which is available for them since our accession to the EU. To facilitate this, we have put all necessary information in a database and continuously publish the relevant Hungarian draft regulations being in a ‘before-adoption’ phase.
We await your comments or suggestions concerning these draft regulations within two months as of the date of their notification (publication), at the following address:
